A totally unique way to view the whales in Hermanus, is to take a sea kayaking trip and glide across the sparkling water inside the Whale Sanctuary of Walker Bay. From June til December you have the opportunity to not only see the Southern Right Whales, but also – if you are lucky – get very close to one… Sitting in a kayak!
Sea kayaking trips depart three times daily from the Old Harbour in the town centre. During a 90 minute excursion there will be an experienced guide accompanying you telling you about the marine life of Walker Bay.
